Kaity’s first experience abroad was a service trip to Izmir, Turkey during Spring Break of her sophomore year at the University of California Santa Barbara. Since then she has found every opportunity to travel that she can. Highlights of her travels have been kayaking in a bio-luminescent bay in Puerto Rico while facilitating an Alternative Spring Break Trip and playing with lion cubs on a lion reserve is South Africa while studying abroad during graduate school. When not planning her next adventure, Kaity loves working with students. Her favorite parts of working on college campuses are leadership development and community building and she loves finding ways to infuse creativity into both.
Kaity has eight years of experience working in Residential Life and another two years working in a Student Affairs. Kaity has a Bachelor of Arts in Communication and Religious Studies from UCSB and a Master of Arts in Higher Education and Student Affairs from NYU. Kaity has dreamed of participating in Semester at Sea ever since she learned of it as a student in 2009 and she is so excited to be making that dream a reality this fall. In addition to all of the great people she knows she’ll meet along the voyage, she’s especially excited for all of the culinary adventures each country will bring.
