Resident Director

Katy Bailey

Katy is currently in her third year as a Resident Director at The College at Brockport, State University of New York. She holds an M.S. in College Student Personnel Administration from Canisius College and a B.S. in Sociology and Health Science from The College at Brockport, and is completing a graduate certificate in Nonprofit Management.
Prior to beginning her career in student affairs, Katy was heavily involved in public health advocacy projects which took her on journeys across the country and around the world—working with youth, government officials, and nonprofit organizations in Finland, England, Nigeria, Senegal, Malaysia, Thailand, and India. She is also a proud alumna of the AmeriCorps program and loves speaking with students about post-graduate service opportunities, as well as mentoring students who wish to pursue careers in student affairs/higher education.
In her first journey with Semester at Sea, Katy hopes to infuse her passions for community service, intercultural competence, and student growth and development into her role as a Resident Director, and looks forward to the many adventures to come!
