Kim is currently a graduate student in the Higher Education Administration M.Ed. program at the University of Virginia where she is serving as the University Career Services Graduate Intern. Prior to attending U.Va, Kim was a student at the University of South Carolina where she held numerous leadership roles on campus and earned a B.A. in Experimental Psychology and Sociology. Kim sailed as a student on the Summer 2009 voyage of Semester at Sea and has been looking for a way to return to the ship ever since! Her experience on Semester at Sea is what led her to pursue a graduate degree in the field of higher education and she plans to make international higher education her life’s work. Kim believes that purposeful international travel and education can make the world a better place by decreasing prejudice and increasing cross-cultural understanding. Kim is looking forward to making meaningful connections with the students, faculty, and staff during the voyage and to visiting the 10 countries on the itinerary to which she has not yet traveled. Kim will be living in Madrid, Spain between her graduation from U.Va. in May and when she joins the shipboard community in August. Kim enjoys traveling, reading, learning, and shopping in addition to ice cream, post-it notes, and sunshine. She hopes to indulge in all of these things during the voyage.
