He also serves as Assistant Professor in CSU’s Student Affairs in Higher Education (SAHE) masters program teaching autoethnographic research methods and advising students. In addition, Kyle works with the Vice President for Diversity office at CSU to provide training to staff and faculty on inclusive excellence. As a trainer and facilitator, Kyle believes that everyone should learn about themselves in relation to others, and realize the impact our actions and thoughts have on others.

Growing up in Cincinnati, OH, Kyle earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in Speech Communication with a minor in Chemistry from Baldwin Wallace University. He earned his Masters in SAHE from Colorado State University and his Ed.D. in Social Justice Education from the University of Massachusetts Amherst.

When not at work, Kyle enjoys playing in a kickball and flag football leagues, playing spades, watching movies, reading X-men and Avengers related comic books, and dancing. In addition, Kyle works with the City of Fort Collins, facilitating trainings with city employees to create a community where everyone feels supported and works toward workplace inclusion.

Kyle is excited about creating a community of learners with others of Semester at Sea to learn and grow in a once in a lifetime opportunity.
