Larry is a retired emergency room physician, having worked over 30 years in Fort Collins, Colorado in the Poudre Valley Hospital system. This career path started with his undergraduate education at Johns Hopkins University, his medical school training at the University of Michigan, internship at Denver Presbyterian, and completed with an emergency medicine residency at Denver General Hospital in 1981.
Larry retired in 2011, which has allowed him to further pursue his love of the outdoors and physical activity. Larry and his wife spend significant time in the mountains of eastern British Columbia, hiking and road biking in the summer, and skiing (downhill and x-country) and snowshoeing in the winter. Their lifelong passion to travel has already taken them to many parts of the US and the world. And Larry always enjoys relaxing with a good book or playing cards.
Larry’s wife, Cindi Brown, is the physician assistant on this voyage and they both are quite excited
to be a part of Semester at Sea. Larry especially looks forward to the new experiences and friendships while traveling.
