Laura first sailed with Semester at Sea in Fall 2001 as an RD. She sailed again in Spring 2010 as the Assistant Dean of Students. Laura’s first voyage on Semester at Sea ignited a passion for travel and intercultural experiences the led Laura to serve in the United States Peace Corps in Mongolia, where she worked at the Mongolian University of Science and Technology in Ulaanbaatar as an English teacher and student services consultant. After returning from the Spring 2010 voyage, Laura moved with her husband to Dharamsala, India where she taught English to a group of Tibetan monks in a program sponsored by the Institute of Buddhist Dialectics and the Office of the Dalai Lama.  She also coordinated an English conversation program between former political prisoners and tourists visiting Dharamsala.

Laura is thrilled to have another opportunity to serve as part of the Student Life team on Semester at Sea.  She has learned so much from her fellow adventurers on previous Semester at Sea voyages and cannot wait to join in the discoveries of those embarking on the Fall 2016 Voyage!
