Lisa Loberg is Director of Study Abroad and Senior Lecturer of French at California Lutheran University (CLU), where she has overseen the creation of a Study Abroad Center and the expansion of international programs and partnerships. She has worked on a number of initiatives to promote campus internationalization and partnered with the CLU Alumni Board to establish a $1 million endowment for study abroad scholarships.
She serves on the advisory board for the American Institute for Foreign Study (AIFS) and International Studies Abroad (ISA), and is a founding member of the Lessons From Abroad organization, which provides programming and resources for study abroad returnees. She received her Ed.D. from the University of California, Los Angeles and her Master’s in French from Boston College. Her research examines factors of participation in study abroad in order to make international opportunities accessible to more students.
Lisa first sailed in summer 2007, when she participated in a site visit with several other study abroad colleagues. She has since sailed on two Enrichment Voyages, has an obvious love of travel, and looks forward to experiencing an entire fall semester at sea.
