I’m from northern Minnesota, a small town called Brainerd, and went to school at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. It was there I discovered Semester at Sea and took part in the Spring 2014 Voyage. Afterward, filled with a need to travel and see more of the world, I began summer seasonal work in Juneau, Alaska with a glacial dog sledding outfit, working as a dog handler and eventually a manager and expediter for the operation. My winter seasons were always different but included some interesting experiences like teaching English in Thailand, working at an ostrich farm in Bulgaria, cross country ski guiding in Yellowstone National Park, to name a few. In 2020, I settled down in Colorado and began work on my private pilot’s license, which I received this past June, and now am incredibly excited to begin work with Semester at Sea! I can’t wait to be back on the ship and in the shipboard community, eating meals on the back deck, and exploring the world again in a whole new capacity.
