Margaret Takeda

California State University, San Bernardino

Dr. Takeda is a Lecturer at California State University San Bernardino where she has been a faculty member since 2006.  She was, most recently, Visiting Professor of Global Strategy and Director of Semestre I at Tecnologico de Monterrey (tec.mx) in Puebla, Mexico.

Dr. Takeda has lived and worked in the United States, Latin America, Europe (West/East), the CIS, the Middle East, Africa, and Asia and has over 30 years’ experience teaching, consulting, training, researching, and serving the international business community. As a business professor, she has designed International Business curricula and taught in Undergraduate, MBA, and EMBA programs in the US, Asia, Europe, Latin America, the CIS, Australia, and the South Pacific. She is one a few certified Global Mindset Institute trainers (Thunderbird) in the world. She is also an Executive Coach and mentors cosmopolitan graduate students on global career issues.

Dr. Takeda’s research has been on both globalizing business strategies and global disaster response systems. Her specialty is the analysis of global industry systems and corporate competitiveness, especially as industries emerge and change over time.

Dr. Takeda taught on Semester at Sea in the Spring of 2012 and is very excited to return in Spring 2023 to revisit countries, companies, organizations, and people to discover all of the exciting changes that have occurred, reconnect with old friends and colleagues, and introduce Spring 2023 students to a fascinating array of experiences and people.
