Mark Brill

Mark Brill holds degrees from Oberlin College, Tulane University and the University of California-Davis. He has written extensively on World Music subjects, including notably on the music of the ancient Maya, and is the author of a textbook entitled Music of Latin America and the Caribbean (Prentice Hall, 2010). He has also written at length on film music and composers, including James Newton Howard, Maurice Jaubert and Bernard Herrmann. He is currently Associate Professor of Music History and Literature at the University of Texas-San Antonio.
