Marni is delighted to be joining the Fall 2018 voyage. A small-town girl from Iowa, Semester at Sea (Spring 2001) opened her eyes to the world and everything she was capable of doing and being. Ever since, she has been passionate about the program.
Marni is an up and coming entrepreneur. She is currently working at the intersection of organization development and travel. In her previous career, she worked over a decade doing IT transformation in the healthcare and avionics industries. Outside her professional life, Marni enjoys cooking, plays softball and golf, cheers for the Iowa Hawkeyes and volunteers with her therapy dog, Zoe.
Marni has a B.S. in Industrial Engineering with a minor in Business Administration from the University of Iowa (2005). She spent a summer during undergraduate studying Spanish in Havana, Cuba. Marni has an M.S. in Organization Development from Pepperdine University. The MSOD program gave her the opportunity to work with clients on three international practicums (France, Costa Rica and China).
Marni has adventured in over 40 countries, worked in seven and lived outside the US for almost eight years (Egypt, Singapore, Canada). She currently lives in beautiful Victoria, British Columbia. Marni is extremely grateful for the family and friends who will make this journey possible.
