Marti Fessenden J.D. M.Ed. brings a 30+ year career in law, higher education administration and non-profit leadership. She currently serves as the Special Counsel to the President of Agnes Scott College while occasionally consulting other colleges and universities as well. She has practiced law for more than 26 years, most recently with the firm she founded – The Fessenden Firm / Higher Ed Advise. Marti has a wealth of international travel and study abroad experience. She has sailed on four Semester at Sea voyages as a Resident Director in 1988, the Assistant Executive Dean in 1996 & 2011, and, as Executive Dean in 2014 – on three different ships. For fun, Marti also is a NCAA and high school women’s lacrosse official where she attempts to chase amazing lacrosse athletes up and down the field.

Marti holds a Juris Doctor from Emory University School of Law. She earned her Masters of Education from the University of Florida where she also holds a BA degree in psychology.
