Maureen Biggers

Maureen has more than 35 years of experience working with college students, faculty, and professionals in the areas of student success and retention, leadership, teams, diversity, living-learning communities, student life and broadening participation in computing. She is passionate about promoting student development and success in and outside the classroom and has worn many administrative hats, including Dean of Students, in a variety of institution types and sizes. She has a B.S. from SUNY at Geneseo, a PhD in Higher Education Administration from the University of Miami, is a member of Omicron Delta Kappa national leadership honor society, and is currently serving as Assistant Dean for Diversity and Education for Indiana University’s School of Informatics and Computing, in Bloomington IN. Outside of work she enjoys reading mysteries, hiking, listening to music and cooking. International travel is a passion for her and thus far she has either visited or lived in Ecuador, Japan, England, Mexico, Scotland, France and Ireland. Tony and Brittany will join her for the sail, and all are looking forward to this opportunity to travel with a community of learners to new parts of the world.
