Professor Meir Russ graduated from The Ohio State University in 1993 with a Ph.D. in Strategy, Entrepreneurship and International Business. He also holds a Bachelor’s degree in Electronic Engineering and an MBA from Tel Aviv University in Israel. He is a founder of a high-tech company in Israel and consulted on strategy and knowledge management internationally. He has also taught at Sichuan University in Chengdu, China, the University of Łódz, Poland, Deusto University in Bilbao, KEDGE-Bordeaux School of Management, the University of Pisa’s, GSA Master program, NORD University, Norway the Master of Knowledge Management program and at Roma-Tre, Rome, Italy, their Ph.D. program as well as the Doctorate in “Economia Aziendale e Management” program at the University of Pisa. Prof. Russ is the Chief Editor of the Online Journal of Applied Knowledge Management (OJAKM). He was also named the Philip J. and Elizabeth Hendrickson Professor in Business in 2014 at the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay. His research interests include human capital valuation methods, knowledge-based strategies and the new-knowledge based economic development among others. Meir is the author of more than 30 peer-reviewed publications and an editor of seven books. He teaches undergraduate, Master and Doctoral classes in Strategy, Entrepreneurship and Innovation, International Business, Marketing, and Knowledge Management. He also delivers seminars on Creativity, Sustainability and Research Methods.
For fun, Meir loves reading science fiction and walking. Meir and his wife Fay have four children and twelve grandchildren. Their greatest passion is traveling to visit them and traveling overseas. Two of their children experienced a Semester at Sea voyage when they were in college, and it was a formative life-changing experience for them both. Meir also likes playing chess and building Lego with his grandchildren. This will be their first Semester at Sea voyage, and they hope to infect the voyage participants’ with their love of cultural diversity, nature, and history.
