Melissa Green is a licensed clinical psychologist. She graduated from Howard University in Washington, DC (B.S., M.Ed., C.A.G.S.). She also earned a Psy.D. (doctor of psychology) degree in clinical psychology from George Washington University in Washington, DC.
Dr. Green began her career in K-12 educational settings, working as a School Psychologist for 7 years. From 2009-2013 she worked with active duty service members at Naval Health Clinic Hawaii, providing individual and group psychotherapy for combat stress. For the past year she has worked as a Military & Family Life Counselor (MFLC), embedded within a military unit, on Marine Corps Base Hawaii. She provides short term counseling and training and consultation to service members, and their families, to help promote wellness and maintain psychological fitness for duty. She is also currently contracted to provide corporate trainings and short term employee assistance program (EAP) counseling to individuals across the island of Oahu in HI. In addition, she has taught undergraduate level psychology courses at Georgia Highlands College in GA.
She is excited about her first voyage with Semester at Sea.
