Noel Blanchet is the Associate Director of the City University of New York (CUNY) Service Corps, a strong University pipeline for diverse talent into New York City’s public sector. The program has provided thousands of CUNY students with paid work experiences in community-based organizations and government agencies since the program’s launch in 2013. Noel is proud to have served with the program since its inception and to continue working to give students of all backgrounds the training and opportunity to enter the workforce with the professional skills needed to succeed in their fields.
Originally from Argentina, Noel’s family moved to Florida when she was 10 to pursue their “American Dream”. Before then, she had lived in Russia, Argentina, and Austria when her parents both served as Argentine diplomats. After moving to the U.S., Noel went on to earn her Bachelor of Arts degree in Public Relations (with minors in Business and Sociology) from the University of Central Florida in sunny Orlando. She then braved the snow in Michigan to earn her Master of Arts degree in Higher Education Administration from the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor.
She loves the field of higher education and really believes in the mission of SAS to prepare students to be engaged global citizens. She has worked at Steinbeis University in Berlin, Germany, at the American Association of State Colleges and Universities in Washington, DC, and at both of her alma maters. She also loves to do yoga, salsa dance, and got her scuba diving license a year ago to explore a new world under the sea.
