Randi Sue has been a nurse for over 30 years in various high acuity settings, serving a diverse population in both in and outpatient areas. After completing her BSN at NY University and then grad school at UCLA, most of her career has remained at UCLA in the ICU’s ER and Surgery. As part of the Nursing Leadership Team she is a preceptor and nurse mentor maintaining the highest integrity for the profession assuring patient safety with an emphasis on bedside care.
Randi Sue has received a national award for her Evidence-Based Practice Research, & twice received the UCLA Clinical Excellence Award. Most recently she was given the 2014 UC Commitment to Caring Award.
Randi has volunteered internationally for NGOs and Not-For Profits as well as nationally for The US Open Tennis & LA Open Golf Tournaments & the US Olympic Committee. She has also served as technical advisor for television and films.
After 4 semester voyages, several Enrichment Voyages and both of the Global Leadership Forums, SAS has added a huge amount to her life personally and professionally. In fact, she met her husband onboard in 1996. John will also be sailing again as the “unofficial” Artist in Residence” attempting to meet the creative needs of the Summer 14 community.
