Rebecca Maniates is currently the Science Librarian, and Coordinator for Research, Instruction and Outreach Services at Yale-NUS College in Singapore. She has worked in academic libraries for more than 10 years. In addition to supporting faculty research and teaching at Yale-NUS, Rebecca works closely with undergraduate students in and out of the classroom to cultivate research and information literacy skills. She is also integrally involved in developing foundational and discipline-specific collections for the new Yale-NUS College Library. Rebecca earned her B.A. in Biology from Boston University, an M.S. in Botany from the University of Georgia, and her M.S. in Library Science from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Her research interests focus on librarians’ development of instruction skills, and usability issues in libraries. Rebecca sailed as Librarian on the Summer 2010 Semester at Sea voyage and as Activities Staff on the December 2011 Enrichment Voyage. She is looking forward to being part of the exceptional teaching and learning community aboard the MV Explorer during the Summer 2014 voyage.
