Brad Brown is a member of the faculty at the McIntire School of Commerce and is also deeply involved in the University of Virginia’s new Global Development Studies major. Mr. Brown has taught in international programs in England, Finland, France, Denmark, Lithuania, Bangladesh, Nicaragua, and Vietnam. He led many student short courses abroad in Europe for ten years and then in Nicaragua and Bangladesh, studying economic development for six years. His most recent study abroad classes have focused on “sustainability.”
Mr. Brown’s teaching interests are in sustainability, social entrepreneurship, business ethics, and strategic management. His research interests are in the areas of sustainable development, corporate social responsibility, and entrepreneurship (especially in developing countries). He has written numerous case studies for classroom use, and has published journal articles, cases, and book chapters.
