Robert Huesca is Professor of Communication at Trinity University in San Antonio where he served as Director of International Programs for six years. He teaches courses on the media system in the United States, audience analysis, international and development communication, community radio, and alternative media. His research examines the participatory approaches to communication for social change; he has conducted research among union radio broadcasters in Bolivia, labor organizers on the U.S.-Mexico border, and youth radio training programs in the United States. His publications have appeared in the Journal of Communication, Gazette: International Journal of Communication, International Encyclopedia of Communication, and the Handbook on International and Intercultural Communication. Before joining the faculty of Trinity University, Huesca was a newspaper reporter and book editor.
