Born and raised from West Philadelphia (insert Fresh Prince of Bel Air theme song)… Shardé attended the University of Delaware where she earned a BA in English with a Film concentration and Women’s Studies minor. She discovered her love for higher education through her involvement in extra-curricular activities such as Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. and Residence Life as a Resident Assistant for upperclassmen housing. Shardé received her MS in Higher Education from Drexel University where she also worked in Residential Living and University Housing for five years. Shardé was then given an opportunity to work with an amazing group of students in London, England for the Fall of 2014 with Northeastern University’s N.U.in Program. Continuing on her international education journey she took a position as visa coordinator with Hult International Business School in Boston.
When Shardé is not working she enjoys TRYING (emphasis on the trying) to learn Japanese and Brazilian Portuguese, African dance, all things pop culture, and expanding her DVD collection (yes, people still buy DVDs). She is excited to have the opportunity to return to Salvador, Brazil this Fall which is the location of her first ever study abroad experience. Saudade! International education is such an exciting field and Shardé is looking forward to the unique experience that Semester at Sea offers!
