Stanton Ullerich

Serves as Professor of Economics in the Siebens School of Business at Buena Vista University, Storm Lake IA since 1994. Stan was the school’s dean from 2005 – 2011. Stan earned his PhD from Purdue University, MS from Iowa State University and BA from Buena Vista University. His research has focused mostly on well-informed versus ill-informed decision making, investment analysis under risk aversion, and university teaching pedagogies. He has presented papers at domestic conferences as well as in Mexico, Italy, New Zealand and Australia. Stan has also been a faculty exchange participant in China (1998), Turkey (2010), Kenya and Rwanda (2012). He has been named his campus’ faculty member of the year (by the Student Senate) four times (2000, 2003, 2005, 2007). His instructional career at Cal Poly- San Luis Obispo and now at Buena Vista has focused upon economics, with stints in statistics, finance, managerial accounting and agribusiness management.
