Registrar/Assistant to the Academic Dean

Theresa Carroll

Theresa Carroll is the Senior Assistant Dean for Academic and Student Services at the University of Virginia School of Nursing. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Communications from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro; a Master’s degree in College Student Personnel from Bowling Green State University; and a PhD in Higher Education Administration from the Curry School at the University of Virginia.

Dean Carroll has previously served as Associate Dean of Students at Randolph-Macon Woman’s College and as interim Assistant Dean of Students at UVa. At the School of Nursing, her duties include oversight and management of admissions, financial aid, orientation and enrollment, advising, leadership and career development and generally infecting the building with irrational optimism. She is married and has two daughters, one of whom will be joining her on the voyage. She enjoys getting to know new people, hear new ideas and embrace new experiences. After having spent the past twenty years at UVa, she is anxious to see how Thomas Jefferson’s academical village plays out on the MV Explorer.
