Tiffany Taylor is the Interim Director for Student Activities and Campus Life at Berkeley City College.
She has worked primarily in Residential Life at a variety of institutions in the Bay Area for 10+ years and has a deep love for the role Student Affairs plays in the success of students as they pursue their academic endeavors. Tiffany has a passion for student leadership as she discovered much of who she was in college by immersing herself in student government and engaging intentionally in programs at her university.
Tiffany earned both of her degrees in Mass Communication with her Bachelor of Arts from the College of Saint Benedict in St. Joseph, Minnesota and her Masters of Science at San José State University in San José, California. The Bay Area is truly where she calls home. Originally from Jamaica, Tiffany revels in any opportunity to learn about other cultures as well as share of her own, both through a love of food and authentic story sharing. Tiffany spends much of her time away from work, cooking, running, trying new things with close friends and patiently planning her next travel opportunity.
Working as a part of the Peralta family, Tiffany has become extremely connected to the community college experience and she is primarily focused on how her role can help students be most successful in their next adventure – whatever that may be. It is critical to Tiffany to ensure she is accessing opportunities for her community to participate in civic engagement and providing platforms for conversation and action as it relates to social justice issues.
Perhaps her love of learning is what brought her to higher education, but the supremely unique interactions with the individual student is what has kept her here.
