Troy is absolutely thrilled to be joining this fall’s voyage. When not preparing for his first Semester at Sea, Troy has spent his time working as a nonprofit and higher education administrator in the realms of fundraising, program management, and teaching. Troy is especially excited to meet hundreds of new people, eager to explore cultures, continents, and communities. Having traveled extensively across the United States, Troy is excited to move his exploration to numerous new countries with countless opportunities to appreciate all the world holds. His academic background has made him most interested in service learning, sharing intercultural experiences, economics on a global scale, racial dynamics, the sociology of sport, New York City, and academic Twitter. Earning his Bachelor’s degree in marketing from Central Michigan University, and Master’s degree in applied sociology from the University of Indianapolis, Troy has always valued experiential education and is looking forward to learning alongside learners from across the globe. When not preparing for class or the next port, you will most likely find Troy somewhere on deck with a book, looking for food, on the basketball court, or with his lovely wife Shannon, a Resident Director on board, in the Residential Seas.
