Willard Korson

Willard is from Lake Leelanau, a small town in northern Michigan. Willard is currently a Residence Area Coordinator at Alma College, which is a small, private, liberal arts college in Alma, Michigan. Willard has been employed at Alma College for the past 6 years and was previously a Residence Hall Director. Willard earned bachelor’s degrees in both Business Administration and Secondary Education from Central Michigan University and earned his master’s degree in Student Affairs Administration from Michigan State University. Willard’s passions are residence life, traveling and service. Willard views Semester at Sea as a perfect combination of these passions. Willard hopes to help create a positive experience for students on the Spring 2013 voyage. Willard also hopes to experience as much as possible, and learn even more. Willard enjoys working with college students, traveling, appreciating nature, enjoying the latest great TV show recorded on his TiVo, playing racquetball, and whistling. Willard has 10 biological siblings and 4 stepsiblings, and his preferred love languages are quality time and acts of service. Willard has traveled abroad extensively including: Central America and the Caribbean, Southern Europe/the Mediterranean, Japan, Egypt, and a service trip to Peru in which he helped build homes for abandoned boys.
