Trebotti Farm and Vineyard, in Castiglione in Teverina

During this field lab students will visit the TREBOTTI Winery and Farm. TREBOTTI aims at guaranteeing the highest productive efficiency and the lowest environmental impact (Trebotti is organic and eco-friendly and abides by the rules of Certified Organic agriculture, under EEUU regulations). After touring the facilities we will meet with one or more managers to discuss their perspectives regarding the management of wine and an organic farm. This field lab will allow you to observe, first-hand, the costs managers of businesses in general and wineries (and farms) in particular must consider. Further, because Trebotti is part of the slow food movement and sustainability and is one their main priorities we will also learn about costs associated with sustainability. And finally, we will learn about specific costs that might be associated with doing business in Italy. We will eat lunch at the farm.

Academic objectives:

  1. For the student to observe, first-hand, the costs businesses in general and wineries (and farms) in particular must consider.
  2. To learn about specific costs that might be associated with doing business in Italy.
