This program is designed for participants who want to enjoy the ruggedness of the Amazon. At the pier board your home for the next three days, a regional riverboat. Your guides will distribute hammocks and prepare you for your adventure in the Amazon as you motor towards the Meeting of the Waters, where the black water of the Negro River meets the brown water of the Solimões River to form the Amazon River. Next you will enter the region of Lake January to view the giant water lilies. Return to the boat and travel to a secluded area to enjoy an Amazonian luau on a white sand beach—a great way to start the New Year! Return to the boat for the evening. Be lulled to sleep listening to the sounds of the Amazon in hammocks with mosquito netting.
