Transfer to Yangon Airport for your early morning flight to Bagan. Upon arrival, first visit Nyaung U market to see the vast variety of fresh fruit and vegetables for sale and gain appreciation for the city’s bustling market atmosphere. Continue on to the most culturally significant and best preserved pagodas of Bagan: including the Shwezigon, Gubyaukgyi, Htilo Minlo. Proceed to amazing Ananda Temple (via horse-drawn carriage) which is one of the four main temples remaining in Bagan.
After lunch at a local restaurant, transfer to your hotel to check-in. In the late afternoon, explore a hand-made lacquer-ware workshop and learn about one of Bagan’s primary industries. Bagan is not only famous for its profusion of pagodas, but also for its artistic handicrafts such as lacquer-ware. Master craftsmanship of lacquer-ware has been the pride of Bagan since the days of the Bagan Empire (849-1287). In late afternoon, meet and discuss with one of the Bagan Archeological Experts (Former Bagan Museum Curator) at one of the temples. Finish the day with sit back, relax and be amazed by the beauty of Bagan as the sun slowly sets behind the ancient pagodas. Dinner will be at local restaurant.

Early this morning enjoy a sunrise hot air balloon ride over the Bagan Archeological Zone. There is no better way to take in Bagan’s historic sunrise and spellbinding landscape than from a hot-air balloon. Prepare to be amazed by one of life’s most breathtaking scenes as you experience the unrivalled majesty of thousands of ancient temples drifting below. Flight duration averages 45 minutes.
The morning continues with a visit to a local village where you experience a day in the life of a local villager. Firstly, explore the attractions the small village is known for: peanut oil production, produced by using livestock to turn a grinding wheel in order to crush peanuts; also a local bean paste factory, one of the staple products of this village. After, get a chance to learn both about the monastic and basic government education. Students alternate between one form of education and the other, dividing their time equally. Listen to a panel of religious leaders and government educators about the unique balance of educational systems.
Drive back to Bagan and after lunch at a local restaurant, return to your hotel for leisure time. In the late afternoon, take a sunset boat ride along the Irrawaddy to explore waterfront life and watch the sunset over Bagan. Dinner will be at special event of home cooked dishes made for the participants by local people.

After breakfast, transfer to Bagan airport for the return flight to Yangon. Reflect on the trip during lunch at a local restaurant before transferring to the ship.

Bagan is a hot an arid environment. Navigating its many temples and sites requires the ability to balance and walk unaided. Very few locations within the Archaeological Zone are handicap accessible.
Hot air ballooning is a weather dependent activity. Flight service cannot be guaranteed until the scheduled flight day. Should your flight be cancelled as a result of weather a full refund of this activity will be issued. Individual passenger weight limit is 280lbs.
