Travel to the beautiful Croatian countryside to the village of Orašac, 12 km outside of Dubrovnik. Here a family has been rooted for four generations over 80 years. Their property includes olive groves (more than 200 trees!), a garden spanning an area of 1500 meters and their personal home.  They also have an olive oil mill on site that was constructed 17 years BEFORE the United States Declaration of Independence! When it was made 260 years ago, the people of the Dubrovnik Republic mostly made their living out of producing olive oil and wine. As a result, this countryside region is full of olive groves.

Begin by helping to harvest some items from the garden that will be included in the lunch. Then, learn about the traditional olive oil production and presentation of the 260-year-old mill and enjoy sampling some homemade oil. Finally, join the family for a local delicious lunch and soak up the scenery. Buon apetit!
