Pathein is well known for its production of bright and colorful parasols. Originally, the umbrellas were made of simple paper, but eventually they became more elaborate and innovative with canopies of cotton, silk and satin with attractive floral designs. The umbrellas are made of bamboo and softwood known locally as “Ma-U Thit”. Later, visit the local market and enjoy life around the harbor. In the late afternoon, drive to Ngwe Saung Beach and transfer to the hotel for check-in and refreshment. This evening enjoy a fabulous group welcome dinner.

Enjoy your culinary skills during lunch, and discuss local life with the farmers while you eat together.
Following lunch, transfer back to the hotel. In the afternoon, choose to join the group for a beautiful sandbar walk to ‘Lover’s Island’. After exploring the Island, there will be a cultural stop at the neighboring Bu Kwel Village. Dinner tonight will be at your leisure.
