Victoria Falls—or Mosi-o-Tunya (the Smoke that Thunders) to locals—is a waterfall located between Zambia and Zimbabwe on the Zambezi River. At 5,604 feet (1,708m) wide, Victoria Falls is the largest curtain of water in the world. The Falls drop between 295-351 feet (90-107m) into the Zambezi Gorge. In addition, an average of 550,000 cubic meters (1,820,666 cubic feet) of water plummet over the edge every minute. The Falls and the surrounding area are National Parks and a World Heritage Site. These distinctions preserve the area from excessive commercialization.

During this program, explore the famous Victoria Falls, enjoy a sunset cruise on the mighty Zambezi River, feast on local delights during a special Boma dinner, and embark on a full day safari in Chobe, Botswana.

“The best part of it all, was knowing that we might not see the falls or a lion, and then the split second glimpse of it, and then being memorized for hours.” – Hannah W., Spring ’17 Voyager

“Absolutely amazing program. There were so many fun things planned from the helicopter ride to the cultural dinner to the safari. South Africa will probably be my favorite port on this trip due to this program.” – Fall 2017 voyager
