Scholarship Description

The Institute for Shipboard Education (ISE) is pleased to offer a $10,000 scholarship for students attending historically black colleges and universities (HBCU’s) or Predominately Black Institutions to participate in spring or fall Semester at Sea voyages. All participants receive a full semester’s worth of undergraduate credits from Colorado State University.

ISE believes that international exposure is a critical element in today’s undergraduate education, offering students a real-life global education experience that will give them an edge in this highly competitive job market. The program is open to students, regardless of their major.

To be eligible for the scholarship, you must:

Submission of Scholarship Application:

This scholarship requires you to video blog throughout your voyage.  Please answer the essay question in a 2 – 3 minute video and email to scholarships@semesteratsea.org.   Include the following in the body of the email: name, voyage, home school, and HBCU scholarship.
