Thank You Semester at Sea

Written by: Michelle Aguilera (Student)

“Hello World! I’m from Los Angeles, California and I go to CSUN (California State University of Northridge). I am a Diversity Scholar and feel very fortunate to be given this opportunity to go on the Summer 2011 Voyage. Coming from an economically disadvantaged background, I am so glad that I am able to attend Semester at Sea. Even though getting sea sick on my first day was not a good experience; I am now happy that I was able to over come that and explore the various possibilities on the ship.

My new friends that I have met on the ship come from all over the world, and it is nice to see all the similarities that we have even though we come from different sides of the country. Everyone on the ship is super kind, from the students, to the professors, staff, as well as the crew.

I am so excited to plan out my future field excursions to the various countries and hope to keep you all updated as I arrive in each port…Spain, Italy, Croatia, Greece, Bulgaria, Turkey, and Morocco. HERE I COME WORLD!!!! Thank you, Semester at Sea!
