Lisa Slavid is honored to be sailing as the Executive Dean for the Fall 2026 voyage; she can still remember the feeling of excitement and possibility as the ropes were cast off the dock on her first voyage as a Resident Director in Spring 1998. Since then she’s had a career in higher education that spans over 28 years, and includes sailing in voyage leadership roles as Dean of Students and Assistant Executive Dean with Semester at Sea. Her areas of expertise in higher education and beyond has been in creating safe and thriving inclusive communities, teaching and facilitation, leadership development, and strategic planning. She currently consults and facilitates on a variety of leadership topics for the non-profit, higher education, and corporate sectors.
