Day 1

Tuesday, March 21, 2017

  • Depart the quayside and transfer by road to Garden Route Game Lodge. A restroom & bathroom stop will be made en-route. Picnic lunch box included.
  • On arrival at Garden Route Game Lodge, check in and enjoy your room and surroundings prior to your afternoon game drive
  • Embark on your 4×4 open vehicle game drive in search of the animals, accompanied by an experienced game ranger. Hopefully, you will be fortunate enough to encounter sightings of lion, elephant, white rhino, buffalo and cheetah. The reserve is also home to giraffe, zebra and numerous antelope species such as bontebok, red hartebeest, kudu, eland, impala, springbuck and many more.
  • Game drives will take between 2 and 3 hours depending on how much time is spent at each sighting. There will be a sundowner stop on the evening drive.
  • After arriving back from your game drive, freshen up and enjoy dinner at the lodge

Day 2

Wednesday, March 22, 2017

  • Embark on a morning game drive including a coffee stop
  • Return to the lodge for breakfast
  • Free time to enjoy lunch at the lodge and explore your surroundings, or take a visit to the reptile park or spend free time around the pool. Alternatively embark on a self-guided nature walk
  • Enjoy an afternoon game drive including a sundowner stop
  • After arriving back from your game drive, freshen up and enjoy dinner at the lodge

Day 3

Thursday, March 23, 2017

  • Embark on a morning game drive including a coffee stop
  • Return to the lodge for breakfast
  • Pack your belongings
  • Complete check-out formalities & board your vehicle
  • Travel back to Cape Town, including a restroom stop en route. Picnic lunch box included.

Special Note

➢Temperatures reach approximately 21°C (70°F) during the day and cooler temperatures in the evening
➢It is advisable to bring warm clothes along for the drive even in the hot summer months. Please remember closed shoes when doing a bush walk or any outdoor activity. Your game ranger will provide ponchos and warm blankets and has a bird book and binoculars. Remember to bring your camera and video camera with you
➢It could be difficult for some guests with walking difficulties to get in and out of the game vehicles.
➢Please note that the game drive vehicles traverse over uneven terrain and that the game-drives can be “bumpy”. This tour is therefore not recommended for guests with back problems.
➢Guests are not permitted to use cellular phones on or during the game drives. They are also not permitted to speak loudly or stand up on the game drive vehicles, as this will disturb the animals.
➢Smoking is not permitted during the game-drives
➢For safety reasons, no children under the age of 6 years allowed on the open vehicles
➢Wildlife sightings are not guaranteed
➢Lion and elephant are in large enclosures and will be viewed during your game drive
