Bathing in Onsen (hot springs) is more than just getting clean. It is a chance to relax, reflect and “wash off” one’s cares and worries. Arima Onsen is one of the oldest and most popular hot springs resorts in Japan, with a history of over one thousand years. Its two different types of thermal water (kinsen, “golden water,” and ginsen, “silver water”) are said to cure various ailments and muscle pains.

Today you will experience Japanese hot springs at a historic hot springs hotel. Enjoy a dip in one of the indoor or outdoor public hot springs followed by a classic Japanese lunch.

Special Note

At the hot springs, the baths are public and gender separated. Clothing or cloth, such as swimsuits or towels, are not allowed in the springs. In Japanese culture, tattoos are taboo and are often associated with criminal groups. The establishment will deny access to the baths to people with tattoos. Please only apply for the tour if you have no tattoos.
