Semester at Sea Fall 2015
Visa Information

Dear Fall 2015 Voyagers,

Greetings! We would like to inform you of the visa requirements for your voyage.

  • U.S. & Canadian passport holders must obtain a visa for Brazil prior to embarkation in September. Brazil visa processing locations are based on your state of residence. IF YOU REPORT TO THE SAN FRANCISCO, NEW YORK or MIAMI OFFICES, PROCESSING TIMES CAN TAKE UP TO 9 WEEKS. THIS IS A TOP PRIORTTY. APPLY AS SOON AS POSSIBLE. Brazil is a do not sail visa, which means you cannot sail on the Fall 2015 voyage without it.
  • U.S. & Canadian passport holders also require a visa for Turkey. However, you may obain this visa upon arrival if you choose to not obtain it prior to embarkation. If you would like to obtain this visa in advance you may do so, but it does not need to be obtained pre-voyage. If you choose to get this visa on arrival, the visa fee will be charged to your shipboard account.
  • The priority deadline to apply for all visas is Monday, May 25, 2015. After this date you may have to pay expediting fees or you may be unable to acquire your visa in time.

INTERNATIONAL PASSPORT HOLDERS
If you are not a U.S. or Canadian passport holder you may have different or additional visa requirements and will receive a separate email with more details; Please be sure to e-mail ise@travisa.com or programadministration@semesteratsea.org if you have any questions.

TRAVISA VISA SERVICE
Semester at Sea has retained the services of Travisa to assist participants with passports and entry visas. Please carefully review the important information and visa application instructions for full details and links to the application.

Visa information is also now available on your MyPassport page, in the Self Service Portal. Please refer to your MyPassport Instructions to view and update your visa information. You will also need to provide Travisa with two copies of your passage ticket/itinerary to apply for your visas. You can download your passage ticket/itinerary in the visa section of your Self Service Portal of MyPassport.

For those of you who need extra assistance, Travisa also has an optional premium service called Travisa First Class. The First Class program promises extra attention from offering to fill out the forms for you or document review to additional tracking and extended business hours. This premium service is $299.00 per visa or passport plus consulate processing fees and a membership fee. For more information on this program please email Josh Hill at jhill@travisafirstclass.com and see if First Class is right for you.
