Top-Ten Tuesdays: Best Places to Study on the MV Explorer

With the first round of exams behind us, Semester at Sea students have now developed their own study habits and can be found with books, notes and computers just about everywhere. Here are some favorite spots:

1. The Deck 6 piano lounge – often includes live music by one of our community members, and a 24-hour supply of Gatorade and coffee

2. Our cabins – desks and some quiet space are never a bad thing

3. The main dining hall – reserved as a quiet space for individual study

4. The Garden Lounge – reserved especially for study groups

5. The Writing Center – a great place to get help, or just bounce essay ideas off the staff

6. The port-side Deck 7 sun deck – natural light increases learning ability

7. The library – 9,000 volumes and helpful staff

8. The computer lab

9. The Union – lots of space and great AV capabilities

And THE most popular place to study aboard the MV Explorer:

10. The pool deck on Deck 7 – marine biology is just easier to understand when surrounded by water
