Body observed in open water approaching Yangon River

Early this morning, local time, as the World Odyssey was still in open water, well before entering the tidal basin waters of the Yangon River, some voyagers witnessed what appeared to be a human body floating in the water. The captain was informed immediately and the ship began circling back to the area where the body was last seen.  This is protocol on ships as the body may have been a person in need of rescue.
Upon return to the area, the body was found again and noted that this was not a rescue situation. The individual was clearly not alive.  The authorities were notified and the location was given to them per protocol. Those authorities will follow up according to their own jurisdictional policies.
As always, skilled mental health counselors are available in port and at sea should any voyagers need their services. We ask that all voyagers and friends and family of Fall 2017 Voyagers treat and discuss this with the dignity befitting the situation.
