Clinic Clowns: Healing Through Laughter in Belgium's Pediatric Hospitals

While the MV Explorer was docked in Antwerp, Belgium, artist-in-residence Barry Lubin brought his students to visit Cliniclowns, an organization that visits the pediatric wards of local hospitals to help bring joy to children.

Our Semester at Sea students had the privilege of spending the day with these friendly hospital clowns, learning more about the healing powers of laughter and discovering first-hand that clowning around can sometimes be serious business.
