Interport students share their perspectives on India

Interport students Taruna Sudhakar and Prtihvi Narayan Srinivasa shared their local perspective with students before they entered their fifth port, India. Both students boarded in Myanmar and sailed with students to India, during which Sudhakar and Srinivasa gave presentations and visited classrooms to talk about their lives and what to expect before traveling around India.

Sudhakar is studying Electronics and Communications Engineering at the SSN College of Engineering in Chennai. She was passionate in sharing about the development and diversity of India.

“As an engineer, I always look forward to sharing and discussing new ideas and solutions with people having different perspectives,” she said.

Srinivasa was particularly looking forward to sailing this leg as he is an avid sailor. When he’s not studying, he’s out on the open ocean.

“Nothing gives me more pleasure than being in the wide open seas,” he said.

Srinivasa studies BCOM Corporate Secretaryship at DG Vaishnav College in Chennai and works to support international exchange interns at a local organization in Chennai.

Spring 2018 voyagers docked in India on February 28, 2018 and filled their time with Holi celebrations, visits to the Taj Mahal and exploring the country’s diverse and complex cultures. The MV World Odyssey is en route to Mauritius as of March 5, 2018 and will reach their destination on March 11.
