Notes from the Field

How do we reflect on the people, places, and cultures we're encountering on our journey around the world? What touches us? What surprises us? What new insights do we uncover? Students in Dr. Monica Frölander-Ulf's Introduction to Anthropology course had the opportunity to consider these questions during their recent field lab in India. The class spent the day interacting with women in Chendamangalam village who are participating in the highly successful Kudumbashree program that focuses on women's empowerment in the state of Kerala.
