Semester at Sea Fiscal Year 2021 Annual Report

We are pleased to share with you our Annual Report from Fiscal Year 2021. Philanthropic support from alumni and friends has positioned Semester at Sea to weather the COVID-19 pandemic, and for this we are thankful.

This Annual Report illustrates that while we did not conduct voyages, the Institute for Shipboard Education remained responsible for lease payments on the MV World Odyssey. The charter and lay-up expenses of our ship lease total $5.8 million annually.

All systems are “go” for our Spring 2022 voyage. With a reimagined itinerary that focuses on Europe and the Mediterranean, strong demand from both students and Lifelong Learners, and new health and safety protocols, including mandatory vaccines and frequent testing, we are ready to return to the high seas.

Thank you to our alumni for their continued support and we hope to see you as a Lifelong Learner soon!
