In support of the University of Virginia and Charlottesville

We would like to acknowledge that part of Semester at Sea’s heritage has its roots in Charlottesville on the grounds of the University of Virginia. Although we are now far removed geographically, we will never be far away spiritually, and the events of the past weekend have left us grieving for the University, Charlottesville, and for our friends and colleagues there. It is our hope that the University will remain a beacon of wisdom, strength and forthrightness in these testing times. We are proud to stand tall with Charlottesville and UVA as it moves forward with courage and steadfast resolve.
