Introduction to architecture, sculpture, and painting (as well as other art forms) from Old and New World archaeology to the era of Columbus. This course is intended to provide conventional survey coverage for transfer credit but also to emphasize regions and sites that students on Semester at Sea can visit during stays in port. Thus it will provide additional attention to Pre-Columbian civilizations in Mexico and the Andes as well as greater emphasis on the British Isles and Spain as well as Saharan and sub-Saharan Africa.
