Dr. Anthony J. D’Souza is currently the Director of Premanjali, Family Counseling and Training Center, Vasai, Maharashtra, India. He is a counselor and psychotherapist with experience in this field for over 30 years. He deals with couples, families, youth and children.
He has his doctorate and post doctorate in Clinical Psychology from the School of Professional Psychology, Wright State University, Dayton, OH. He received the class award for Excellence in the Practice of Clinical Psychology and a few years later Best Alumnus of the Year award for his work related to Psychology in India.
He is a Jesuit priest and has held various leadership positions in Mumbai, the last being as Rector of St. Xavier’s College, Mumbai, one of the most prestigious degree colleges in India, run by the Jesuits.
He is interested in integrating psychology and spirituality from an Eastern perspective. He is the author of the book: Discovering Awareness published in the States. The book succinctly puts together the main aspects of his ten-day program he conducts in India and abroad. The book contains his thoughts related to psycho-spiritual integration as well practical exercises to deal with spiritual and psychological problems. They represent his personal reflections, experimentation and journey of over 30 years.
He is interested in interacting with new people, teaching, gardening, cooking, music, sports and organizing/conducting programs for different groups.
