Persuasion in Action

Persuasive techniques are all around us. We see them in advertisement, media, and

our daily interactions. Dr. Emily Acosta-Lewis of Western New England University takes her class to see how cultural differences affect the population and how they responds to these techniques. In this piece, Acosta-Lewis’s class visits with United Nations staff members in Yangon, Myanmar, who discuss with the students some of the unique challenges they face when doing social campaigns in this unique part of the world.

The United Nations office also reported on this visit: http://unic.un.org/imu/recentActivities/post/2013/02/27/Semester-at-Sea-samples-UN-seeds-of-persuasion-in-Myanmar.aspx
