The world is waiting, and the map is set. Semester at Sea is thrilled to unveil the Fall 2027 Voyage, a 104-day global journey designed for those ready to bridge continents and cultures.
This 140th voyage isn’t just a study abroad program; it is a crossing of four continents and two oceans. Embarking in the historic maritime hub of IJmuiden, Netherlands, on September 9, 2027, voyagers will trace a path from the cobblestone streets of Europe to the Afro-Brazilian rhythms of Salvador, Brazil, to the vibrant markets of Southeast Asia, before concluding their journey in Bangkok, Thailand, on December 22, 2027.

A Classroom Without Borders
Fall 2027 voyagers will spend five to six days in most ports. This extended time allows for deep immersion—moving beyond tourism to engage with local community leaders, environmental experts, and historic heritage sites. Back by popular demand, our 7-day stay in Cape Town, South Africa remains a cornerstone of the Fall 2027 itinerary, consistently ranked as a favorite destination by alumni for its breathtaking landscapes and deep cultural immersion.
While at sea, the MV World Odyssey transforms into a high-energy “floating campus.” Students will take comparative coursework that brings the world outside their cabin window into the classroom, led by a world-class faculty dedicated to global perspectives.
A Fall Premiere: Singapore Joins the Itinerary
For the first time in recent years, we are bringing the “Lion City” to our Fall Voyage. The city-state of Singapore makes its highly anticipated fall debut in 2027. This addition offers all voyagers a unique opportunity to experience one of the world’s most sophisticated “Green Cities” during a different seasonal lens. From exploring the intersection of ancient traditions and futuristic “Supertrees” to studying the city’s world-leading sustainability models, Singapore is the ultimate addition to an already epic 104-day journey.
