Singapore's Role in World War II

Singapore was one of the Crown Colonies of the British Empire, and because of it’s strategic location, it was also one of Emperial Japan’s primary targets during World War II. Students in Breck Walker’s World War II History course were able to see first hand the places and locations most significant in the battle for control of the city. Understanding the history of the country

during World War II provides a necessary framework for understanding how Singapore, and the rest of Asia, are doing today.
